State of Mind

State Of MindWith Kind Permission of  the Photographer, Sherwin James

Sweet Darkness

When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.

There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your womb
tonight.

The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.

You must learn one thing:
the world was made to be free in.

Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn

anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

  2. dear one,
    ....it is morning.
and here you are waiting for me with open arms. this photograph enters me with the language of red. birth, passion, life force, oneness.
    the words...a flame,
    the strength of your intension
    converging
    in a promise
    so profound it fills me.
my heart becoming the altar where the light of love
    resides in candles.
perfect flames now flickering in the house of belonging.

thank you for seeing me, the comfort of this
    gives birth to healing.

"Love allows understanding to dawn, and understanding is precious. Where you are understood, you are at home. Understanding nourishes belonging. When you really feel understood, you feel free to release yourself into the trust and shelter of the other person's soul."

  5. Very powerful...
    'anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
    is too small for you'

this resonates deeply with me as I am struggling with a long time friendship at the moment.

and a wonderful totem for Rebecca,
    x..x
