Refuge

Deep Sleep by Mustafa Millidere“Deep Sleep” by Mustafa Millidere 2010

"You have traveled too fast over false ground;
Now your soul has come to take you back.
Take refuge in your senses, open up
To all the small miracles you rushed through.
Become inclined to watch the way of rain
When it falls slow and free.
Imitate the habit of twilight,
Taking time to open the well of color
That fostered the brightness of day.
Draw alongside the silence of stone
Until its calmness can claim you."

  1. Dearest Noelle,

This is so beautiful, both image and words, I can identify with them. We have had wind and rain recently, the feeling was lovely listening to the rain dashing my windows and the wind whistling down the chimney whilst I was tucked up in my bed. Sometimes the stream in my garden overflows into my cottage when there has been a heavy downpour, but I have come to accept this as part of life and the nature of things.

Thank you for sending me the link to the happiness poetry, I enjoyed this reading.

    Much love to you,

    Sue x

  4. Love the little spotted owlet and the various shades of brown in the picture are simply gorgeous!!

It looks so snug and safe in the cavity of the rocks, hope it is not spotted by the birds.

I have read that when disturbed from their daytime site, they bob their head and stare at intruders. It can often be located by the small birds that mob it.

Based on emotion rather than reason, I think I would feel sorry if this little one was disturbed.

In Hindu mythology the owl is a vahan (mode of transport) of Lakshmi, goddess of wealth.

Thank you Noelle for a wonderful share!!
    xoxo
    Nanka
