Angel’s Touch, Cloudy Hills Romania Spring ~ Cristina Velina Ion
"If you want to identify me,ask me not where I live, or what I like to eat, or how I comb my hair, but ask me what I am living for, in detail, ask me what I think is keeping me from living fully for the thing I want to live for."
Thomas Merton
Beautiful words by Thomas Merton and a breathtaking scenery!! Love the light and shadow play!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for what you offered today it is marvelous.
Divine post. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Boonie
I always love Thomas Merton. My father told me once that he visited the monastery in Kentucky where he lived and loved that book The Seven Storey Mountain. I read it as well but was more wowed by how he died. That's how weird I am --
ReplyDeleteI love that he was once a communist and also a convert. I also love that he was able to marry East and West so readily in his personal spirituality, something that very few Catholic monks or priests I have known were able to do. His words make a great deal of sense to me and his involvement in politics and his compassion for the world, even in his isolation, make me respect him a great deal. The circumstances of his death were very odd.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you enjoyed Merton and the "angelic cloud" Nanka. Happy New Year to you.
